Mattie’s one on one workshop is specifically tailored to wedding photographers who are looking to grow their business and elevate their portfolio. This workshop will be split into three parts to address all the elements necessary to building a successful and sustainable photography business. Each part is carefully tailored to fit the specific needs of the photographer. Film, digital or hybrid photographers are all welcome, but note that Mattie shoots primarily digital and this workshop will be focused on digital photography only.
PART I Portfolio Review & Strategies to Building a Cohesive Brand
Learn how to create a cohesive brand and attract your dream clients. This part includes a one on one instructional class discussing social media strategies, marketing, networking, and a portfolio review with honest feedback and suggestions. Portfolio review includes reviewing three full galleries of your wedding work, website, social media and blog. There will also be a Q&A session where students are welcome to ask Mattie questions they have regarding business strategies, photography techniques, etc. At the end of this session Mattie will provide you with a list of action steps to achieve the goals discussed.
PART II Styled Wedding Shoot
We will work hands on together directing and shooting a styled bridal editorial. During this time Mattie will explain and demonstrate her approach to lighting, composing, and how to work with a digital camera to produce fine art film-like portraits. This shoot will feature a bride with wedding gown and florals. Depending on the needs of the photographer, groom and calligraphy can also be arranged for a more comprehensive wedding styled shoot. The goal of this shoot is to elevate your brand and create exclusive, captivating images you can use for your portfolio.
Part III Editing and Workflow
The last part of this workshop includes an exploration of post production, curating and editing techniques. Mattie will guide you through your editing process and help you develop an efficient, consistent method to processing photos.
